Decorated music journalist and broadcaster Kylie Olsson has certainly kept herself occupied during quarantine. The longtime music lover began a journey back in April to learn how to play the guitar during the lockdown, and recently added a Jackson Pro Series Signature Rob Caggiano to her collection.
“I never realized just how rewarding learning how to play the guitar would be when I started in April,” wrote Olsson on an Instagram post. “This piece of wood and steel has literally saved me as 2020 brought us to our knees. If you are thinking about playing then now is the time!!!!”
Olsson featured the Shadowcaster beauty in a new video this week on her YouTube channel Life In Six Strings, in an episode titled, “Is the Jackson Shadowcaster the best guitar ever made?”
“It really is a gorgeous guitar,” said Olsson in the clip. “I’ve enjoyed every minute of playing and it sounds beautiful even with my playing.”
Caggiano’s signature Pro Shadowcaster has a deeper back contour that positions the guitar closer to the body for comfortable performances.
“When I got this out of the box, I put it on and it just fit like a glove,” said Olsson. “It wraps itself around you. It’s just super comfortable to hold. I’m a beginner, and I felt like this just made it so much easier for me to play the guitar.”
Olsson also appreciated the smooth playability of the model’s unpainted oiled maple neck.
“It’s got one of the most comfortable necks I have ever held,” she said.
