Jackson artist Joey Concepcion was recently tapped to join legendary metal group Sanctuary for the band’s upcoming North American tour with Iced Earth. Acting as the Seattle band’s second guitarist, Concepcion will help pay tribute to late Sanctuary singer Warrel Dane, who tragically passed away in December after an unexpected heart attack.

“I’m very stoked to be playing with Sanctuary on their upcoming tour,” said Concepcion to Blabbermouth.net. “I’ve been a fan since I was in high school listening to ‘Into the Mirror Black’. I’m looking forward to playing these songs live and honoring the legacy of Warrel Dane.”

The gifted guitarist is also part of Florida death metal band the Absence, who just dropped an amazing new video for the title track “A Gift for the Obsessed” off their forthcoming new album. The video is filled with high-intensity visuals that perfectly match the melodic, in-your-face thrash stylings that the Absence has become known for.
