Anthrax axeman and Jackson signature artist Scott Ian, along with drummer Charlie Benante, recently sat down with online shred-site Noisecreep to discuss the band’s forthcoming new album, Worship Music.
Both thrash metallers also talk about reuniting with vocalist Joey Belladonna after 20 years, and Ian shares his excitement about the singer’s performance on the record.
“His range; his emotions; phrasing; it’s just incredible,” Ian said. “Maybe it sounds weird to say, like, ‘Wow, he sounds so amazing,’ but 20 years later when you hear this dude and how he sounds on this record, there’s only a couple of guys on the planet that can still sing at this level at this age.”
