Slamming Boston trio Revocation has finished work on new album Chaos of Forms, due for August 2011 release.

The 12-song album, the band’s third and the follow-up to 2009’s Existence is Futile, was recorded in Massachusetts and has more varied arrangements and instrumentation.

“The songs on the new release are incredibly varied and all have the own character,” Jackson Warrior-wielding guitarist/vocalist David Davidson has told the metal press corps. “They range from technical thrash to groove laden death metal; there’s even a song with a full horn section this time around.”

Revocation, along with Forbidden, White Wizard and Havok, hits the road this summer for a month-long North American tour that kicks off June 9 in Los Angeles.
