Scale The Summit has premiered a new video for the track “Blue Sun,” and it is a shred-tastic masterpiece.

For the clip, each member of the Texas prog outfit donned a pinstripe spandex bodysuit that had their hands and heads completely whited out (aside from strategically placed mustaches). Another thing that also stands out is guitarist Travis LeVrier’s Jackson Custom Shop Soloist in stunning Ice Blue (see photo above).

The track, which comes off impending fifth album V (due out Sept. 18), features all the frenetic fretwork that you have come to expect from Scale the Summit over the years, an aspect that guitarist Chris Letchford was keen on capturing.

“People have always wanted STS to go crazy with shredding – and we finally catered to that demand on this song,” Letchford told Prog. “I consider this the album’s epic song. It has some of my favorite parts of the whole record. We’re really tapping into prog metal goodness on this one.”
