Earlier this week, a disguised John Mayer sat in with the house band on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he eventually performed his new funky single “Still Feel Like Your Man.”
Sporting a fake beer and latex beer belly, Hank the Hawk Knutley told Kimmel that he intended to perform songs like “Trapped in the Garage,” “Trapped in the Garage Part Two,” “Watch Your Mouth” and “Stabbed to Life.”
After being heavily featured during Kimmel’s opening monologue, the ruse comes to an end later in the show when Mayer sadly admits, “Ed Sheeran is killing it right now. And I thought maybe if I played a different person, I could get another chance to make it.”
Following a “magical spin,” Mayer, with his shockingly pink Jackson Soloist that fans may remember from his 2015 GRAMMY appearance with Sheeran, runs through the post-breakup jam. The track appears on his recently released EP The Search for Everything, Wave Two, the second of three EPs that will lead into his upcoming full-length album, due out April 14.
