Chris Gill of Guitar World magazine sat down with our Jackson Pro Series Soloist™ SL7 HT to find out if the seven-stringer was everything it’s meant to be.

Turns out, it was even more.

A fan of the extensive features found on the ash topped Pro Series guitar including the distinctive transparent satin Charcoal Gray finish, traditional, single-layer bound ebony fingerboard, and dual Seymour Duncan SH-6 humbuckers, Gill was most impressed by the oiled, one-piece maple neck.

“The neck is one of the most comfortable seven-string necks I’ve ever played, and despite having a very slim profile it feels rock solid,” he wrote.

Gill awarded the Soloist with Guitar World’s prestigious Gold Medal award for performance and finished the review with this summation of the 7-string shred machine:

“Jackson’s expertise in designing and building seven-string solid body guitars really shines through in the Pro Series Soloist SL7 HT, which delivers outstanding tone and playability for a surprisingly affordable price.”
