Guitar World’s Dave Reffett caught up with Revocation guitarist David Davidson during the band’s recent Boston tour stop for an update on all things Revocation.

Davidson, who was recently named top modern metal guitarist by MetalSucks, was inspired to play guitar after watching Joe Perry.

“I started out playing guitar in the fifth grade,” Davidson told Guitar World. “I saw an Aerosmith music video, and when I saw Joe Perry solo I knew that I wanted to play guitar.”

The Jackson signature artist also discussed his weapon of choice.

“I play Jackson guitars,” he told the magazine. “The Warrior is my favorite model and I was fortunate enough to have them build me a custom one so I’ve been shredding that nightly.”

As for upcoming material, Davidson told Guitar World that Revocation will soon release a David Brodsky-directed music video for “No Funeral,” a track off the band’s recent album Chaos of Forms.

Revocation hits the road mid-October for a U.S. tour with Chimaira. Check tour dates here and read the whole article at Guitar World here.
