Jackson-wielding Falling in Reverse guitarist Jacky Vincent discussed his formative years with the instrument and how he joined the band thanks to the Internet in a recent Alternative Press interview. Therein, Vincent, 22, recalled being fascinated by guitars quite early on.
“I [was] always, like, fascinated with guitars and stuff ever since I could walk,” he told AP. “When I was a little kid, [my dad] gave me the first Guns N’ Roses album (Appetite for Destruction). I was, like, six or something. That got me into rock music—and then that was it after that.”
Vincent was contacted by former Falling in Reverse bassist Nason Schoeffler, who had stumbled upon Vincent’s Myspace profile. After exchanging several messages and YouTube videos, Vincent was in for good.
